A 20-year-old woman was killed and another injured when gunfire erupted New Year’s Eve in Placentia, officials said.

Three arrests have been made so far in what police are calling a gang-related homicide.

The victims were found by police in the 1600 block of Vincente Avenue just before 11 p.m.

Judah Seelke of Anaheim had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Veronica Manza, 25, also of Anaheim, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. She was treated by paramedics at the scene and released, said Placentia Police Sgt. Jack Chandler.

Police had been called to the 1200 block of Orangethorpe Avenue and through investigation found the victims about six blocks away, Chandler said.

Police arrested three men Friday in connection with the shooting but refused to release their names, saying they did not want to jeopardize their investigation.

“There may be some additional arrests or some additional witnesses that we don’t know about yet,” Chandler said. “The investigation is pending.”

No further details were released.

The men were being held at the Police Department on Friday.
