Downtown Revitalization
Dear Ventura,
News has reached Santa Paula that you are about to launch your city into the new millennium with a $75-million send-off. This will be used to revitalize downtown Ventura with some good old American tax dollars through a redevelopment agency. So let’s send a message to Washington: “Get government off our backs!”
In accordance with the GNP (Good Neighbor Policy) I would like to share the benefits of our experience. We here in downtown Santa Paula have revitalized four or five times already. I’m sure one of these days, when our City Council uncovers a few more million, we’ll go after all those tourist dollars again.
We also dabble in the museum and railroad business. So if you should hit a snag, don’t forget our GNP. We are here to help.
