Volunteers Needed for Tutoring Sessions
Volunteers are needed to tutor children in basic spelling, math and reading at the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo.
Several students have signed up for individual tutoring sessions that will start Jan. 11, said spokesman Jack Carlson. Some tutors have signed up, but at least a dozen more are needed for the nine-week program.
Volunteers, who are matched with students between ages 6 and 18, must be at least 16 years old. Sessions run Mondays through Thursdays at the club. Tutors will be asked to donate one or two hours a week.
Applications are available by calling the administrative office at 482-8113 or by visiting the club at 1500 Temple Ave.
The club, which has more than 2,200 members, offers tutoring sessions twice a year.
