Fredrik Modin’s deflection goal at 1:54 of overtime gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night at Toronto.

Toronto’s Mats Sundin won a faceoff in the Lightning zone and sent the puck to defenseman Dmitri Yushkevich. His snap shot from the point was deflected by Modin past goaltender Bill Ranford into the top corner on the stick side.

Colorado 4, Montreal 3--Claude Lemieux had two goals as the Avalanche ended a month-long home drought.

Boston 5, Calgary 1--Sergei Samsonov scored two goals at Boston.

New York Rangers 4, San Jose 3--Todd Harvey and Kevin Stevens scored within 25 seconds of the third period to lead the Rangers at New York.

St. Louis 4, Vancouver 0--Jamie McLennan recorded his fourth career shutout at St. Louis.

Ottawa 4, Carolina 4--The Senators scored three goals in less than five minutes in the third period to rally at Greensboro, N.C.
