About 50 games will be played during a 13-week regular season, with an average of four games a week.

Word is that the schedule will be revamped rather than picked up. Lakers and Clippers schedules will probably be released next week.

The free-agent signing period will begin Jan. 18. Teams will be scrambling to fill rosters, make trades and sign some of the 200 free agents on the market while also holding abbreviated training camps.
