Huntington Beach police arrested a San Bernardino resident early Thursday in connection with the rape and abduction of a 17-year-old Huntington Beach girl.
Police allege that Anthony Lamarr Clark, 33, raped the girl at the Bolsa Chica wetlands after forcing her into his truck at gunpoint. Authorities said she was abducted between 6 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near her home near Magnolia Street and Adams Avenue.
After he raped the girl, Clark drove her back to the area where he picked her up, authorities said, and the girl notified police.
“An investigation ensued based on information the victim could provide of the suspect and the vehicle,” Huntington Beach Police Officer Mike Kelly said. “We’re quite confident that we have the suspect in custody.”
Police arrested Clark at an oil production plant in Huntington Beach early Thursday. Kelly said Clark has a criminal record, but he declined to elaborate.
Clark was booked into the Huntington Beach Jail on suspicion of kidnapping and rape. His bail was set at $50,000.
