The city of Inglewood on Thursday offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of an 11-year-old boy 8 1/2 years ago.

William Tillett was walking home from Bennett-Kew Elementary School on Yukon Avenue on May 24, 1990, when he was abducted. Investigators said he was last seen about 3 p.m. near Imperial Highway and Crenshaw Boulevard.

At 10 that night his body was found behind an apartment complex on West 138th Street in Hawthorne. A silver or gray Datsun 280Z was seen fleeing the complex shortly before the boy was found. Police said two black men in their mid-20s were in the car.
