The Planning Commission will consider adopting a master plan tonight for the new Downtown Community Center in Lions Park. The City Council gave conceptual approval to the project in August after the size of the center increased to 18,000 square feet and the cost climbed to $2.5 million. The project will replace a community center built in 1941 for use by the Boys’ Club.

Federal Community Development Block Grant money will pay for the project, staff reports said. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
