HUNTINGTON BEACH
The Planning Commission today will consider an amendment that would allow the city’s Redevelopment Agency to take residences in the Main-Pier Sub-Area for public use, provided owners are justly compensated. The city will exclude a number of redeveloped properties from its eminent domain authority and allow other property owners to apply for exemption.
The City Council will consider whether to approve the amendment Jan. 19. At that time it will also call for the formation of a Project Area Committee, a group of eligible property owners and businesspeople charged with making recommendations about the proposed amendment. Information: Economic Development Director David C. Biggs, (714) 536-5582.
