Arson Suspected in Policing Building Fire

Share

A small roof fire Saturday morning at the Community Policing Building may have been the work of an arsonist, Santa Paula police said.

The Santa Paula Police Department received several 911 calls about 5:15 a.m. Saturday reporting a fire at the building at 431 N. 13th St. Two officers who responded to the calls climbed onto the roof and extinguished the fire, which caused moderate damage to the building’s exterior.

A financial estimate was not available Saturday.

The Community Policing Building, which is separate from police headquarters, houses the department’s drug education program and other offices.
