Northridge Fights Off Late Montana Charge
Greg Minor scored 14 of his 20 points in the first half Sunday as Cal State Northridge built an 18-point lead then withstood a second-half rally to hold on for a 92-88 victory over Montana.
Northridge, 10-8 overall and 2-4 in the Big Sky Conference, used a full-court press to cause 15 first-half turnovers by the Grizzlies (8-8, 1-4).
The Matadors also made eight of 11 shots from three-point range, including four three-point baskets by Minor, to take a 57-39 halftime lead.
Montana’s Matt Williams scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half to help the Grizzlies pull within 88-86 with 19 seconds left.
