STANTON
The city plans to review the results of a report from Garden Grove that surveys cost alternatives for fire services in the county. The Garden Grove study--which included Westminster, Buena Park and Stanton, although Stanton did not request to be part of it--concluded that it may be more cost-effective for these cities to form an autonomous fire agency outside the 16-city Orange County Fire Authority.
Mayor Harry Dotson said the city should remain in the Fire Authority but added that officials should review the study results. A public discussion on the costs associated with the county’s fire services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Salvation Army district office, 10200 Pioneer Road in Tustin Ranch. Information: (714) 289-7425.
