Councilman Shawn Boyd will urge his colleagues next week to choose Mayor Pro Tem Patricia Campbell as mayor and himself as mayor pro tem, and to make the term last 14 months. The board is scheduled to choose a mayor to succeed George Brown, who resigned after he was elected to the Coast Community College District board. Brown’s term would have expired in two months, but Boyd wants the mayoral term extended another year.
