What: “Houston Comets: Back to Back Champions” video

Price: $19.95

The WNBA’s annual video review documents the league’s second season, its champion’s second run through the playoffs, and the players, coaches and teams who fell along the way.

The fallen include New York Liberty coach Nancy Darsch, whose team’s season-long funk cost her her job.

There’s the mother-of-four Cleveland Rocker guard, Suzie McConnel Serio.

There’s Phoenix guard Michelle Timms, playing “Mother Hen” (‘Roo?) to fellow Aussies Michelle Griffiths and Kristie Harrower.

And then there’s Phoenix’s center, Jennifer Gillom, who even in one of her great series couldn’t stop the Houston steamroller.

Through deft editing, the video shows how the WNBA’s most underrated player, Comet point guard Kim Perot, was the spark of the Houston offensive engine, which also had two-time most valuable player Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson.

You can already count on the theme for next year’s video, whether or not Houston three-peats: The roles of former ABL stars, who are about to be absorbed by the WNBA.
