Gang Member Convicted in Death of 9-Year-Old
LOS ANGELES —
A gang member was convicted of second-degree murder Friday for the October 1997 killing of 9-year-old Selwyn Leflore Jr.
Victor Adegbenro, 24, was found guilty by a Superior Court jury, while his co-defendant, Tyrone Manley, 21, was acquitted on all charges, said Victoria Pipkin, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Selwyn was killed by a bullet meant for a rival gang member while waiting with his mother and brother at Martin Luther King Jr. Transit Center for a bus home.
