McMahon was born June 12, 1930, in Woburn, Mass., where he was raised. After enlisting in the Air Force and marrying, McMahon moved with his new bride Patricia Ann to England.

The couple lived around the world, in such places as Thailand, France and Texas, during McMahon’s 28-year military career.

Several years before retiring in 1980, McMahon was stationed at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. The family made their home in Camarillo.

“He was a loving father,” said son Stephen McMahon, 44. “He took care of his family.”

McMahon spent his retirement years playing golf. He also occasionally worked as an extra in movies. McMahon was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Elkins Ranch Men’s Club.

Patricia Ann McMahon died in 1987. McMahon remarried Arlene Abram of Thousand Oaks a few years later. She died last September.

McMahon is survived by his son, Stephen of Lompoc; five daughters, Donna Cox of Bourne, Mass., Lynne Grunderman of San Jose, Marcia McMahon of Newbury Park, Robin Duberger of Mashpee, Mass., and Danielle McMahon of Marlboro, Mass.; brother Charles McMahon of Bradenton, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

A visitation is planned for Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary in Thousand Oaks. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

McMahon will be buried at the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Cape Cod.

Family members requested memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Assn.
