The City Council has voted to spend about $427,000 on downtown lighting improvements and public signage. The council last week unanimously approved the project, which would include more than 50 informational and directional signs throughout the downtown area. The project also includes the installation of several light fixtures on the East Wilshire parking structure and replacement of more than 200 street lights with bulbs that last 100,000 hours.
