Mabel L. Pendelton Elementary School has received a $225,000 state grant to improve its technology over the next three years. The money was part of a $2.1-million Technology and Literacy-Educators Networked and Teamed grant, which the state earlier this month awarded to six Orange County school districts. Buena Park, Anaheim City, Anaheim Union High, Westminster, Magnolia and La Habra City school districts successfully applied for the grant together.

At Pendelton, the grant will allow students in seven classrooms from fourth to sixth grade to receive access to the Internet, Principal Mary Wu said. In addition, teachers will receive training on how to use computer technology in the classrooms. The districts will also work together to develop a Web page to post such things as teachers’ lesson plans.
