Sketch of Suspect in Burglaries Released
Los Angeles police have released a composite sketch of the so-called “southside burglar,” wanted in a series of residential burglaries in Encino.
The burglar has hit as many as 39 homes since September in Encino Hills, south of Ventura Boulevard and between the San Diego Freeway and White Oak Avenue, making off with an estimated $500,000 in jewelry and cash, said Lt. George Rock of LAPD’s West Valley Division.
The sketch is of a clean-cut Asian male, 24 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 and 170 to 190 pounds, Rock said.
He was spotted by a gardener at one of the burglarized homes wearing a blue jogging suit with white sneakers, leading police to believe he may be masquerading as a jogger, he said.
