Police arrested twin brothers, 16, on suspicion of selling marijuana and possession of explosive devices.

Ventura police arrested the teens about 1:30 a.m. Friday after receiving several anonymous tips of possible drug sales at the residence on the 3600 block of Loma Vista Road.

Surveillance of the house also resulted in the arrest late Thursday night of three adults who police said bought marijuana from the boys.

A search of the brothers’ bedroom revealed three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, scales, packaging material and more than $1,500 in cash, police said.

Investigators said they discovered two pipe bombs in a closet. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was called to remove the devices.

“They were destructive devices,” Sgt. Jerry Thurston said. “Had they been ignited--set off--they would have caused damage.”

The juveniles, whom police would not identify, were turned over to their parents, pending a court appearance.
