* Pat Boone and Jericho headline “Valley of the Stars and Stripes,” a Fourth of July festival and fireworks celebration from 2 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Cal State Northridge’s North Campus, corner of Devonshire Street and Zelzah Avenue. The event, sponsored by the Granada Hills, Chatsworth and Northridge chambers of commerce and CSUN, will include entertainment by the rock band Angeles, country band Carnes County and a Polynesian dance revue. * Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia presents “Strictly USA,” its Fourth of July show with fireworks, live music, dancing and an all-you-can-eat picnic dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $9.99 to $36; picnic dinner is available for $8.95.

* “Pyro-Musical” at Castaic Lake will include live music, food and a Wild West exhibit as well as fireworks. * At Hansen Dam Park, corner of Foothill Boulevard and Osborne Street. in Lake View Terrace, the Independence Day Celebration will have entertainment, carnival games, rides, information booths and fireworks. PARADES, PARTIES & PICNICS

* Calabasas holds its annual Fourth of July Summer Splash Party with a variety of free events, beginning at 8 a.m. Activities include runs, walks and races, a pet show, swimming, tennis, a petting zoo, pool-side dancing and games. A family-style barbecue lunch and dinner will also be available. The party will be at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center, 23400 Park Sorrento. (818) 222-2782.

* The Sunland-Tujunga Rotary Club will celebrate with its annual parade beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at Foothill Boulevard and Mt. Gleason Avenue. A celebration will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sunland Park, including arts and crafts booths, bands, games, gunfighters, a clown, rides for kids, a petting zoo and a greased pole climb. * The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2805 will host an Independence Day Bash beginning at 11 a.m., featuring music from the ‘40s to the ‘70s, a castle bounce, a pinata filled with goodies, and face-painting.
