2 Children Hurt During Celebrations
Two youngsters were injured Sunday night, one critically, in accidents apparently related to Fourth of July celebrations, authorities said.
In South Los Angeles, a 9-year-old boy was in grave condition with a head wound that occurred while he and his family sat on the porch of a home while fireworks were set off nearby.
The boy appeared to have been hit by a bullet outside a residence in the 100 block of East 75th Street about 8:30 p.m., said a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
In El Sereno, a 5-year-old boy was in fair condition after being struck in the eye with a firework.
