Saying a recent appellate court decision to allow a striptease club to operate in Anaheim is “factually inaccurate” and “clouds . . . [zoning] enforcement,” City Atty. Jack L. White said the city may petition the state Supreme Court to reverse the 4th District Court of Appeal’s decision to let the nude cabaret move into the city. The June 29 decision reversed an earlier ruling by the Orange County Superior Court upholding the city’s denial of a business permit.

The city had refused to allow Badi Gammoh to operate the striptease on the grounds that it violated a zoning ordinance. The proposed business is to be in the 3000 block of East La Mesa Avenue, less than 400 feet from a residential lot, White said. A city zoning ordinance prohibits adult businesses within 400 feet of a residential property.
