Albina Rose Gariepy, a retired hair stylist and a Ventura resident, died Saturday. She was 86.

Born Feb. 28, 1913, in Fall River, Mass., she was the oldest of nine children.

In 1934, she married Leo Gariepy. The couple lived in Fall River for about 40 years. She was a stylist there and became friends with many of her loyal customers.

In addition to her daughter and husband, Gariepy is survived by her daughters Jo-Anne Gariepy of Ventura and Celeste Bryant of Tampa; brother Arthur Remy of Assonet, Mass.; sister Theresa Paquette of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gariepy’s name to ARC, Ventura Avenue Facility, or the Livingston Memorial Hospice, Ventura.

Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura, with Msgr. Arnold Biedermann officiating.
