LUTHER PLAY: To celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Katherine VonBora, the wife of Martin Luther, the Covenant Players will perform a play, “Meet Martin and Katie Luther,” at 5:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Sunday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17400 Vanowen St., West Van Nuys. BOY CHOIR: The Cathedral Boy Choir of the Lyon Cathedral in France will make two appearances in the Valley this week. The 45-member choir, whose members range in age from 10 to 25, was founded during the reign of Charlemagne in 799 A.D. It will perform sacred music--from Gregorian chants of the Middle Ages to contemporary compositions--at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mel Catholic Church, 20870 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, and at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10321 Tujunga Canyon Blvd., Tujunga. SUMMER CONCERT: Dennis and Paula Doyle and Erich Sylvester will perform Irish ballads and Celtic music accompanied by a Celtic harp, guitar, banjo and tambourine at a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Road, Encino.
