Officials are studying whether to implement a city-run transportation program for the elderly, at a cost of $39,000. The program would provide door-to-door transportation for shopping, doctor visits and other activities within a five-mile radius of city limits. If the city does not develop its own program, it could contract with the Orange County Transportation Authority, which runs similar services for several cities. The City Council is expected to make a decision on which program to fund within the next few months.
