Fountain Valley School District trustees recently accepted a $20,746 Reading Standards and Intervention grant from the state Department of Education for training teachers in grades four through eight. The funds will be used for reading staff development activities. The board also reviewed a proposal to allocate $125,000 per year, for up to four years, for maintenance needs at the closed Wardlow and Nieblas school sites.
