Weed abatement efforts during the 1998-99 fiscal year cost the city $4,582, the city's Public Works Department reported. The city's ordinance requires that the City Council assess a lien on the nine properties that have not reimbursed the city for its cleanup bill. As a result, the council will consider doing so at its meeting Tuesday. The average cost per property was about $406, with one costing $837 to clean up.
