The city’s Planning Commission voted Tuesday to allow a 45,000-square-foot complex dominated by a health club to occupy a shopping center in the city’s southwest corner.
The three-story Ocean Ranch II project will contain a 24-Hour Fitness Sport club on the first floor and office space on the other floors.
Residents of the Breakers and Riviera condominiums argued against the project during a public hearing, stressing concerns about noise, glare, loss of privacy and the stability of a large slope separating the building from the homes.
