* Update--Tim Salmon knew he wouldn’t be able to return after a 2 1/2-month absence because of a sprained left wrist and continue his torrid April offensive pace, but the cleanup batter couldn’t have envisioned his comeback being this difficult. The Angels have won only one of 12 games since Salmon’s return, and after a three-hit game July 22, Salmon has gone hitless in his last 21 at-bats.
