Cleveland 3, Huntington Park 1--Senior catcher Tony Cicero concluded his high school career in style, sparking the Cavaliers’ victory in the City Division championship game at Dodger Stadium. On Wednesday, Cicero was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 15th round.

“It’s been the best week of my whole, entire life,” Cicero said. “This is the grand finale.”

Cicero had two hits, including a double, and drove in one run to help the Cavaliers (15-15) to their first championship since 1982. He relieved starter Jason Wigginton (5-1) with one out in the fifth inning and held Huntington Park (23-10) hitless the rest of the way, striking out five.

Center fielder Vince Zuniga continued his hot offensive streak with two hits, including a leadoff triple in the third that led to Cleveland’s second run.

Before he struck out in the fourth, Zuniga had reached safely 12 consecutive times.
