What’s happening the next few weeks:

* The 60-painting exhibition “Francis Bacon: A Retrospective” goes on display Saturday at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, in Lincoln Park near 34th Avenue and Clement Street. * The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art presents a major survey of work from media artist Bill Viola, June 25-Sept. 12. * The 23rd San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival runs June 17-27. The opening film is Jim Fall’s comedy “trick,” and the closing night film will be the U.S. premiere of “Show Me Love,” a story of young lesbian love from Sweden.
