Thousand Oaks-Based HomeStore.com Plans IPO

HomeStore.com in Thousand Oaks has filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of up to $100 million of common stock.

HomeStore.com said it will use the proceeds from the proposed offering for general corporate purposes. All shares are being sold by the company.

HomeStore.com, through RealSelect, operates a family of real estate Web sites. Realtor.com is the official Internet site of the National Assn. of Realtors and features approximately 1.25 million existing and new home listings. HomeBuilder.com is the official new home site of the National Assn. of Home Builders, which specializes in lots and plans offered by more than 12,000 builders.

CommercialSource.com is a global Internet site for commercial real estate brokers, providing access to national and international property listings.

HomeStore.com also is in the process of acquiring SpringStreet Inc., which provides an Internet listing of more than 6 million home rentals in 6,000 cities.
