Tony Goldwyn and Minnie Driver voice the title character and Jane in Disney’s 37th animated feature, “Tarzan.” Rosie O’Donnell plays sidekick to the ape-man, and Phil Collins wrote the songs. The movie opens in general release on Friday. In Hollywood, it’s been playing since Wednesday at the El Capitan Theatre. The Disney-run theater presents the film with the stage show “Tarzan Summer Spectacular,” which includes the just-installed refurbished Mighty Wurlitzer organ that was built in 1929 for the Fox Theater in San Francisco.

More than 200 artists will gather at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium this weekend to share their handcrafted items made of glass, clay, wood and fiber at the Contemporary Crafts Market. The annual market is a juried exhibition showcasing fine art works such as painting, sculpture and photography along with more functional works such as furniture, jewelry and basketry.
