About 30,000 people are expected to attend the 73rd annual San Fernando Fiesta on Saturday and Sunday, city officials said.

The event, to be held in downtown San Fernando, is the finale to the 10-day Heritage Days Festival highlighting the art, culture and history of the northeast Valley.

As a fiesta warmup, the city is sponsoring a free concert featuring R&B; group Tierra at 8 tonight in Recreation Park, 208 Park Ave.

There will also be carnival rides, games, food, art exhibits and booths with merchandise and information on nonprofit organizations.

Events will be spread throughout the downtown area, on Brand Boulevard between Truman and Pico streets, and on San Fernando Road between Mission Boulevard and Chatsworth Street.

Admission is free.
