Flights Passed Test--for Now

* Your editorial “Test Flights will Help in Decision,” May 30, was absolutely correct in stating “Anything that lends a dose of real-life experience to the El Toro discussion is bound to have some value.”

I am not naive and thus realized I would hear the airplanes. That is OK--I bought my home knowing the military jets over my home were loud. What I wanted to discover was just how much quieter the commercial planes actually were.

I must admit there is quite a difference! While somewhat appeased, I nevertheless am not sure what adding flights throughout the day might create.

I now doubt the airport will ruin my quality of life, but do think it would be wise for our elected officials to sit at the airport planning table and discuss how to obtain the same restrictions JWA has managed to secure. We need to spend some time and money negotiating a reasonable plan that includes a curfew and other rules we all can agree to as fair.
