Four Media Buys Assets of Audio Company

Four Media Co. of Burbank, which provides technical services to producers and distributors of TV programming, said it acquired the assets of Los Angeles-based Digital Sound & Picture for $7.2 million in cash. Privately held DSP uses proprietary technology and a high-speed digital audio network to provide a range of sound services for TV series and feature films. Included in DSP’s feature film credits is the recently released “Austin Powers” sequel. DSP also provides complete sound services for television series such as “Xena: The Warrior Princess.” Four Media shares fell 19 cents to close at $6.44 on Nasdaq.
