Donations Sought for Fire Victims

Share

The Red Cross is seeking donations to help cover the estimated $60,000 cost of sheltering victims of last week’s devastating fire at Garden Grove’s Crown Villa Apartments.

The fast-moving fire Friday night swept through the 61-unit complex, killing two residents and causing more than $2 million in damage.

Since then, the Orange County chapter of the Red Cross has sheltered 150 people at Bolsa Grande High School Shelter and Service Center on Westminster Boulevard in Huntington Beach. The organization has also served 1,490 meals and used the services of 120 round-the-clock volunteers, according to a news release.

To date, the organization has received just $100 in community donations to help the victims of the fire. Donations can be sent to the Orange County Red Cross, P.O. Box 11364, Santa Ana, CA 92711-1364.
