Carolina Wins All-Star Game

Steve Medrano’s three-run home run in the 10th inning lifted the Carolina League All-Stars to a 10-6 victory over the California League on Tuesday night in front of 6,518 at Lake Elsinore.

Designated hitter Mike Glendenning of Crespi High and Pierce College, who plays for San Jose, doubled and scored for the California League.

Catcher Greg Connors of Lancaster had one hit, while Brandon Parker of Lancaster pitched a hitless sixth inning and JetHawks Justin Kaye struck out both batters he faced in the eighth.

Lancaster finished the first half with a 23-47 record, worst in the California League and 19 games behind first-place Rancho Cucamonga in the Southern Division.
