Sugar and Spice: A free weekend at home in Laguna Niguel is a rarity for us, so when we’re in town on a Friday night, my husband [golf pro Ian Sawyers] and I like to go out for dinner at Royal Thai Cuisine or Natraj, an Indian place, in Laguna Beach. I love spicy food and curries. Afterward, we’ll go to TCBY for a shiver, which is yogurt mixed with cookie dough or candy, or whatever. I try to get as much candy as I can fit in there.

Morning Ritual: Sally’s Donuts is very convenient, about 30 seconds down the hill from where I live, so I’m there a lot. I love to sit in there and drink coffee, eat a cinnamon roll or chocolate cruller and read the newspaper on Saturday morning. It’s a great little spot.

Model Student: Another of our favorite spots is Il Fornaio in Irvine, where I usually eat a calzone and we wash our dinner down with a nice, big bottle of red wine. I like any dry red wine, like a Merlot or a cab. I don’t do white wine. At Stanford, I took a wine-tasting course, which is where I first got into wine.

Trip to the City: If I go up to L.A., it’s usually for a personal appearance or to go to a Galaxy game at the Rose Bowl. My dad used to take us to a lot of Dodger and Angel games when I was a kid, but I’m not a big baseball fan. I’d rather go see football or basketball. I loved the Magic-Kareem-Worthy Lakers, and I really like Kobe Bryant.

Sweet Tooth: For breakfast on Sunday mornings, we go to Mimi’s, which is a big chain. I usually get the French toast or pancakes, and they also have great muffins. I always get something sweet. I can definitely eat the fatty foods because we work so hard in practice.

Secret Hideaway: After breakfast on Sunday, we’ll walk around Laguna Beach and probably end up at this little bar up the hill from the Laguna Beach Hotel. I’m not sure of the name. It’s kind of hidden away--you can’t really see it from the street--so not too many tourists go there. It’s great because it hangs out over the ocean. It’s mostly a bar, but they’ve got great munchies too.
