Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza and Candie Kung of Fountain Valley advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Western Golf Assn. National Amateur Championship in Fishers, Ind.
Booth, who will play Tamie Durdin of Australia in one semifinal, defeated Nicole Dalkas of Palm Desert, 5 and 4, in the third round, and Leland Becktel of Chevy Chase, Md., 1-up, in the quarterfinals.
Kung, who will play Hilary Homeyer of Edina, Minn., today, defeated Robin Weiss of Lake Worth, Fla., 3 and 2, and Meredith Duncan of Shreveport, La., 1-up.
Steve Conway of Dove Canyon lost, 5 and 4, to Dong Yi of Alameda in the quarterfinals of the California Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Conway, 17, lost three consecutive holes on the front nine. The match ended when he conceded a birdie on the 14th hole.
