Irvine’s Lavery Finishes With Eagle on Last Hole
Mike Lavery eagled the last hole to finish one-under and lead Irvine to a 393-403 nonleague victory over Capistrano Valley at Oak Creek in Irvine.
Lavery finished with a combined score of 70. The first nine holes were played at Marbella.

Canyon 392, Orange Lutheran 404--Freshman Matt Amen was the medalist for Orange Lutheran (0-1) with a three-over 74 at Anaheim Hills and Willowick.
Edison 427, Cypress 477--Medalist Kyle Wicks birdied three holes on the back nine and shot an 80 to help Edison (1-0) in a match played on the Los Alamitos Navy Course and at SeaCliff. Teammates Jason Tachine and Josh Dean shot 82 and 83, respectively.
Esperanza 398, Long Beach Millikan 416--Brian Six shot a three-over 74 for Esperanza (2-0) at El Dorado Park and Yorba Linda Country Club. Medalist Sean Wurtz shot a 72 for Millikan (0-2).
Tustin 220, Orange 244--Sophomore Dan Florey was the medalist for the third consecutive time for Tustin (3-0), shooting a five-over 41 at Tustin Ranch.
University 382, Fountain Valley 404--Ron Won shot a one-under par to lead University (1-0), combining for a 71 at Strawberry Farms and Mile Square.
Villa Park 418, El Dorado 423--Medalist Zach Cohn shot an eight-over 79 to lead Villa Park (1-1) at the Green River Orange Course and Western Hills.
Western 210, Long Beach Jordan 309--Senior Troy Pinkerton shot a three-over 39 to lead Western (3-0).
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Dana Hills 15, Laguna Beach 3--Senior Ryan Kent swept in singles for Dana Hills (1-0).
Western 11 1/2, Loara 9 1/2--Chris Doustourian won one set in singles and another in doubles to help Western (2-0) win by two points.
