PURIM CARNIVALS: Purim will be celebrated at a number of carnivals Sunday. Carnival locations are:

SEDER PLATES: Artist Barbara DeMaria will teach participants how to create a heirloom Seder plate for Passover from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Sepulveda Pass. The cost is $12 per plate. Information and reservations: (310) 440-4636.

BENEFIT CONCERT: A concert series, “The House That Music Built,” will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19700 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch. The series is a benefit for Habitat for Humanity, which will use the funds to help build a home in Pacoima beginning in the fall. The cost is $3. Information: (818) 349-5360.

JEWISH EDUCATION PERSPECTIVE: Tyree Weider, president of Valley College, will speak on “Education: What We Must Remember, a Jewish Perspective” at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Social Hall at Temple Beth Hillel, 12326 Riverside Drive, Valley Village. PRAYER BREAKFAST: Tommy Barnett, founder and president of the Los Angeles International Dream Center, will be the keynote speaker at the 36th annual Glendale mayor’s prayer breakfast at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, 1401 N.
