Actor, Dog and Prosecutors

Share

Re “Dogged Pursuit,” Feb. 28.

I think it is about time we fired the city prosecutors for their vendetta against Jeremiah Gerbracht. What we really need to do is harass them as they find time to harass others. I think it would be a good idea if they paid all trial expenses out of their personal finances. It is obvious they have no idea of responsibility for taxpayer money.

Is it any wonder that people hold the city prosecutor in such contempt? At one time I respected the California Highway Patrol, but this is no longer true, based especially on this kind of action. The city ought to be spending its time fighting crime. This hardly fits the case.

I am appalled and disgusted that the L.A. city attorney’s office can spend so much time--and especially so much taxpayer money--in prosecuting a man with a dog on his motorcycle. Millions of innocent dogs and cats are “put to sleep”--murdered--every year because humans do not get pets spayed or neutered. If the city spent that money on a spay / neuter clinic, it could do a lot more for animal safety and care to prevent such a huge animal overpopulation killed by human negligence every day.
