* Iwerks Entertainment Inc. of Burbank, a high-tech entertainment company, has appointed Don Anderson its director of manufacturing and Claire O’Reilly its director of film distribution.

O’Reilly will oversee the worldwide distribution of large format, simulation and attraction films, said Charles Goldwater, president and chief executive officer. Before joining Iwerks, O’Reilly was with PolyGram, where she served as manager of international licensing and administration.

Anderson will oversee the manufacturing operations on all Iwerks projects and will report to Dan Geismer, senior vice president and general manager. Before joining Iwerks, Anderson was director of production and engineering for Roboshop, then later ran his own firm, D.B. Anderson Tech., with clients including Vertex Corp., BRC Imagination Arts and Iwerks, where he was consulting prior to his appointment.

Iwerks Entertainment Inc., founded in 1986, describes itself as a provider of high-tech entertainment systems, support services and film-based software in large format, ride simulation and specialty venue attractions.

Warner Bros. Studios promoted Scott Nelson, who worked for the FBI for 27 years, specializing in sensitive personnel matters, to vice president of studio protection. Nelson, 55, will supervise five departments ranging from lot security and investigations to fire prevention.

He joined Warner Bros. in 1995 as director of studio protection and his new position is basically a merit promotion, said spokeswoman Stacy Ivers.

Nelson is a Marine veteran who won several combat decorations in Vietnam and a graduate of Jacksonville University. While at the FBI, he won the FBI Star medal, one of the bureau’s highest honors.

Randy Halle has been named chief executive of Management Action Programs, a management consulting firm with an office in Sherman Oaks. Halle, who was named president nine months ago, succeeds Dan Stevenson, who will continue as chairman. He will serve as both president and CEO.
