Hours after acquiring Eddie Jones and Elden Campbell in a major trade with the Lakers, a makeshift version of the Charlotte Hornets lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 85-70, Wednesday night at Philadelphia.

The 76ers faced a bunch of reserves, including Charles Shackleford, Chucky Brown and an aging Chuck Person.

Allen Iverson had 25 points, seven assists and five steals for the 76ers, who snapped a three-game losing streak despite committing a season-high 23 turnovers.

Jones and Campbell didn’t join the team in time for the game, leaving the Hornets with only nine players after trading Glen Rice, J.R. Reid and B.J. Armstrong to the Lakers.

The Hornets expect Jones to arrive in time for Friday night’s game at Washington, and Campbell isn’t expected to play until Sunday in New York.
