* South Harbor Boulevard: Report of assault and battery in the 1300 block at 4:10 p.m. Sunday.

* Saturn Street: Report of a petty theft in the 2700 block at 7:42 a.m. Wednesday.

BUENA PARK

* Walnut Avenue: Landscape equipment was reported stolen from a storage bin in the 7300 block at 9:40 a.m. March 16.

CYPRESS

* Pearl Circle: Report of a residential burglary in the 4200 block at 5:12 p.m. March 16. The homeowner found the front door smashed and the house ransacked. Nearly $8,000 in jewelry, cash and a camcorder were stolen.

* Street of the Golden Lantern: A robbery alarm in the 33000 block was triggered at 4:57 p.m. March 16.

* West Rosslynn Avenue: Report of a stolen 1992 red Nissan Sentra in the 600 block at 8:17 p.m. March 16.

* Verona Drive: Report of a residential burglary in the 900 block at 8:38 p.m. March 16.

GARDEN GROVE

* Sunswept Avenue at Buena Street: Police were looking for a man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the man apparently picked up the girl while she was playing, put her into his blue pickup and fled. At a stoplight, the girl apparently opened the passenger door and escaped unharmed. No description was available. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 741-5707.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Slater Avenue: A woman reported at 8:58 a.m. March 16 that a recycling center in the 7600 block refused to give her money when she turned in a bag of cans.

* Warner Avenue: A screaming woman refused to leave a building in the 5000 block at 9:44 a.m. March 16.

IRVINE

* Fortune Drive: Two incidents of battery were reported in the Irvine Spectrum entertainment center at 1:33 a.m. Sunday. Both victims declined to press charges.

* Saarinen Avenue: A 1986 Toyota Camry four-door was reported stolen in the 14100 block at 7:33 a.m. Sunday.

LAGUNA BEACH

* Glenneyre Street: After a traffic accident in the 1100 block at 6:52 a.m. Sunday, police said, the male driver left the engine running and fled the scene on foot. Officers caught a 25-year-old man shortly thereafter. He was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor hit-and-run, vehicle theft and being an unlicensed driver.

* Moulton Parkway: Report of a burglary alarm in the 23000 block at 6:19 p.m. March 16.

LAGUNA NIGUEL

* Talavera: Report of a suspicious person at 10:34 p.m. March 16.

LA HABRA

* West Imperial Highway: Report of a residential burglary in the 1000 block at 5:11 p.m. Thursday.

* North Harbor Boulevard: Report of a vehicle burglary in the 700 block at 9:59 a.m. Friday.

LAKE FOREST

* El Toro Road: Deputies cited a reckless driver at 11:47 a.m. March 16.

LA PALMA

* Furman Road: A male juvenile with a gun next to him was reported sleeping on the roof of a school in a sleeping bag at 9:12 a.m. Thursday. Police found the youth, who they said was a 14-year-old runaway, with a BB gun. He was arrested on a weapons charge.

LOS ALAMITOS

* Howard Avenue: A resident reported that a stereo worth $700 and a cell phone worth $200 were stolen from a Volkswagen parked near Los Alamitos Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. Friday.

MISSION VIEJO

* Medical Center Road: Report of shots heard in the 27000 block at 10:22 p.m. March 16.

* Via Saramentoso: A robbery alarm in the 1000 block was triggered at 12:37 p.m. March 16.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Plaza Drive: A robbery alarm in the 31000 block was triggered at 8:21 p.m. March 16.

SANTA ANA

* East 4th Street: Police arrested a man on suspicion of disorderly conduct in the 700 block at 7:26 p.m. Thursday. Police said they found the man passed out in his car.

SEAL BEACH

* Seal Beach Boulevard: A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft at 11:03 p.m. Thursday.

STANTON

* Seaboard Court: Report of a burglary with an audible alarm in the 11000 block at 8:48 p.m. March 16.

TUSTIN

* Bliss Lane: A burglar pried open a window and stole a stereo face plate from an Acura in the 16000 block. Reported at 2:31 a.m. Sunday.

* Pasadena Avenue: Neighbors complained about a loud stereo in an apartment in the 15400 block at 3:28 a.m. Sunday.
