* A driving, slashing player, Gientke helped spark the Cougars to a strong playoff run that included an upset of second-seeded Chino Don Lugo. Gientke was a Times All-County second-team selection last season.

* Center

* A solid post player with a nice shooting touch, Greathouse was a force inside for the Channel League champion Bulldogs. Also a Times All-County selection last year.

Stacey Howard / St. Bonaventure

* Guard

* Two-time Tri-Valley League player of the year averaged 20.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals to help the Seraphs (16-10) win their second consecutive league title.

Kelly Murray / Buena

* 5-7, Sr.

* Guard

* The field general of the Bulldogs, Murray upped her game another notch in the playoffs, scoring when needed, passing with accuracy and steadying a relatively inexperienced team.

Mari Myllykoski / Royal

* 5-10, Sr.

* Forward

* An exchange student from Finland, Myllykoski averaged 16.8 points and 6.7 rebounds to help the Highlanders (13-11) finish third in the Marmonte League.

Christen Roper / Nordhoff

* 6-5, Sr.

* Center

* Roper, who has accepted a scholarship to Hawaii, missed the first eight games of the season with a broken hand, but returned to help lead the Rangers to an undefeated record in the Frontier League.

Jamie Sturdivant / Simi Valley

* 5-7, Sr.

* Guard

* Averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 assists and 2.5 steals as the Pioneers (21-7) finished second in the Marmonte League and advanced to the second round of the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs.

Chenne Tuimoloau / Channel Islands

* 5-10, Jr.

* Guard

* Bothered by an abdominal muscle pull for part of the season, Tuimoloau, an accurate three-point shooter who also passes with precision, returned in time to help the Raiders earn a share of the Pacific View League title.

Coach of the Year

Brent Milburn / Moorpark

* Milburn guided the Musketeers (25-3) to the Marmonte League title after three consecutive Frontier League championships. Moorpark advanced to a semifinal of the Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs.
