Capital Idea for a Visitors Center

Share

It’s hard to believe, but this nation’s tourist-packed capital has been without a visitors center for four years. That’s about to change.

On Friday, the D.C. Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center is to open at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W.--between downtown and the National Mall. It will be staffed and have brochures, tour tickets, video terminals with information about services and attractions and a souvenir shop. Hours will be 8 a.m to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
