LAGUNA WOODS
The City Council today will look into creating a position for a city staffer who would search out and apply for grants. The council also is expected to voice its support for the Safe and Healthy Communities Initiative, which would require a two-thirds approval from county voters for such large projects as an airport, jail and landfill. The council meets at 2 p.m. in the Leisure World administration building boardroom, 23522 Paseo de Valencia.
